device restarted when the game is running on online mode

Postby sathyamani » Wed Nov 29, 2006 4:50 am

HI,
We developed one game for samsung D500.In our game player can have the option to play the game in online mode using GPRS connection....But the problem is ,if we are playing the game in online and fetching & getting files from server using http connection ,after some time (for eg 20 minutes) the device automatically restarted itself..we noted that restarting problem only occured when we fetch the data from sever or connecting with the server..but it is not happening when we are playing...
we tried the same game in some other device models .but we didn't get the restart problem.. .. but it happened specially in Samsung D500 mobile..

could you please tell me
1. what are reasons for restarting of device ,when the game is running..
2. How can we solve this problem..
pls help me ..Because we need the solution very urgently.......

Thanks. :(

Hi
Will u please try to check whatz the total heap size of RAM occupied by ur game, because D500 has only about 560KB of Heap size. May be ur game might run in other mobile which has more heap size than this. And kinldy tell what r all the other mobiles in which ur games run perfect, such that i can check whether its due to Heap memory or GPRS connection problem.

Hi,

Thanks for ur reply...
Actually I printed free memory on the device when the game is running...It shows nearly 100-150 kilobytes at the time of restarting..
and this game runs on nokia6600,sonyericsson K700 ,even nokia 40s devices also...But Samsung D500 only creates restart problem..
pls help me..

Then there many be the problem with ur phone, not the coding part, kindly ask the service provider that if there is any problem in GPRS connection in D500.
